Lent 2019: With All Your Heart

How will you observe a Holy Lent? How will you prepare to meet our Risen Lord?

During this season God calls us, inviting us to return to God with all our hearts. Some of us take on disciplines, like prayer and fasting, so we can deepen our relationship with the Living God. Others of us give up habits, like FaceBook and smoking, so that we can create space to welcome God in new ways. All of us seek an encounter with the Living God who loves us more than we could ever ask or imagine.

Join us as we journey to the cross and empty tomb together.

Let us “Return to the Lord with all our hearts” (Joel 2:12).

Ash Wednesday Worship

March 6 @ 7:00 p.m.

As we start our journey we step intentionally into that which is broken and torn – a space in which we learn to be vulnerable again so that we may journey into the very heart of God.

First Sunday in Lent (March 10): God’s Generous Heart

As we explore the wilderness inside our own hearts, we need to be reminded over and again who we are and to whom we belong. Together we will rehearse the story of our faith and find our groundedness in the very heart of God.

Third Sunday in Lent (March 24): Our Choice

Will you leave your chosen pathways, repent, and turn back to the God who always has plenty of room at the Table for us?

Fourth Sunday in Lent (March 31): Coming Together

Before we can get to the new creation of Easter, we have some repair work to do within our own hearts and in our world. How do we mend what is broken, making it better than it was before?

Palm / Passion Sunday: What Wondrous Love

April 14 @ 10:50 a.m.

Our journey to Easter culminates in Jerusalem where we wave palm branches and shout “Hosanna!” in one breath and deny Jesus, shouting “Crucify him!” in the next. Our hearts long to return to the Lord; still, the flesh is weak.

Maundy Thursday: Love One Another

Dinner Church

April 18 @ 6:30 p.m.

The Upper Room tugs at our hearts as Jesus breaks bread and washes our feet. Just who is this Jesus who calls us to love one another with all our hearts?

Good Friday: All Your Heart

Service of Diminishing Light

April 19 @ 7:30 p.m.

How deep the Father's love for us, How vast beyond all measure

That He should give His only Son To make a wretch His treasure

Feast of the Resurrection: I Believe

Easter Sunday

April 21 @ 11 a.m.

Look at what God has done! He is risen! He is risen, indeed! Return to the Lord with all your heart! Come, see, and believe.

Note: There will be a sunrise service at Moore's Chapel Cemetery at 7:00 a.m.

Alleluia! He is Risen!
