Learn and Grow with Us
Sunday School (2nd and 4th Sundays)
All children are encouraged to participate in Sunday School on the 2nd and 4th Sundays of each month from 10:00 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
Children who come on 1st and 3rd Sundays at 10 a.m. will have the opportunity for supervised play.
During our 11 o'clock worship service we lead a Children's Celebration. This brief time of focused learning gives our children an opportunity to participate actively in worship. In addition, a special Children's Bulletin is available to help the children learn more about the gospel lesson for the day.
Young Disciples (Grades 4 & 5)
5:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. first Sundays
Young Disciples (Grades 4 & 5) at Saxapahaw UMC meet on first Sundays in the Fellowship Hall with the Youth Group. Join us as we grow in our faith, strengthen our friendships, and have fun!
Each summer we host The Village Camp and we encourage our children to participate in day camp at Camp Chestnut Ridge.
In all things, we remember the vows we make when we baptize our children: "With God's help we will proclaim the good news and live according to the example of Christ. We will surround these children with a community of love and forgiveness, that they may grow in their trust of God, and be found faithful in their service to others. We will pray for them, that they may be true disciples who walk in the way that leads to life." (United Methodist Hymnal, page 35).
The Whirl Classroom: Our younger elementary and Pre-K children will learn Bible stories and themes using an engaging curriculum that is grounded in Scripture and creatively applied through videos and activities. This curriculum is published by Sparkhouse and is theologically sound, imaginative, and easy to implement. Teresa Kelly and Margaret Hartley will lead this class.
